New Day New Chef

New Day New Chef is a fun, plant-based 8-part series hosted by renowned activist and TV personality, Jane Velez-Mitchell.   Audiences will be treated to a variety of recipes, including breakfasts, lunches, dinners and healthy snacks created by both celebrities and well-seasoned cooks.  New Day New Chef offers a unique twist to traditional cooking shows. Each day we have a new co-host, new chefs and a fresh panel of taste testers to sample our delicious dishes!  From Olympic medalists to movie stars and even a yoga master, our cooking show is like no other!  Meet all our chefs and co-hosts below, and don’t forget to check out our recipe page!

Meet our Cast

Jane Velez-Mitchell

Jane Velez-Mitchell is the founder and content editor of JaneUnChained, a tv host, news reporter, and New York Times Best Selling Author. a multi-platform social media news outlet that produces original video content on animal rights and the vegan/compassionate lifestyle.  For six years she hosted her own show on CNN Headline News, where she ran a weekly segment on animal issues, and she is the winner of a Los Angeles Emmy and a New York Emmy for her reporting.  She is a New York Times Bestselling Author, and a documentary producer.

Lori Alan

Lori Alan is an actor, writer, and producer who is perhaps best known for her award-winning voice-over work. She stars on the Nickelodeon’s Emmy Award-winning, SpongeBob: Squarepants as Pearl Krabs and Diane Simmons on FOX’s Family Guy.

Otep Shamaya

Otep Shamaya is the lead vocalist of the band, Otep, and aside from her music career she is also a voice-over actor, having been featured in The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies.  She has been featured on HBO’s television series, Def Poetry, and in 2010 she was a GLAAD Nominee for Outstanding Music Artist, alongside Lady Gaga.  In 2015 she released her first edition of short stories titled, Movies in My Head.

Jane Elizabeth

Jane Elizabeth is the host of the YouTube show, “See Jane Do Everything.”  she is a certified personal trainer, songwriter, and founder of Badass Rebel Runners.  She’s performed in rock bands for 13 years, and she lost 80 pounds in 18 months on a plant-based diet.  She is the author of Become a Badass Rebel Runner: The Ultimate Guide to Being a Fit Mom without the Diet Bullshit.

Erin Riley-Carrasco

Erin Riley-Carrasco was named PETA’s Sexiest Vegan Over 50, and she’s the founder of the 501c3 non-profit foundation, ALMA Animal Rescue Foundation, which rescues homeless animals, gets them the veterinary care they need and adopts them out to forever homes.  She is the founder and director of Dance Unlimited, which is the largest on-site dance studio in North San Diego County, and she an adrenal cancer survivor.  

Kyle Breslow

Kyle Breslow, Melissa’s husband, is a certified public accountant at Goodfriend and Jacobs.  He’s also an athlete and thrill-seeker who he plays tennis and surfs among many other activities.  He and Melissa have traveled extensively together and have hiked some of the world’s most famous locations.

Korin Sutton

Korin Sutton is a three-time champion bodybuilder who is dedicating his life to teaching people how to stay fit on a plant-based diet.  He served in the military for 8 years, and after his tours in combat zones he had a life-changing realization that inspired him to go plant-based.

Andrew Sealy

Andrew Sealy is a connection catalyst, Yoga artist, and movement creator. His days are spent traveling to find adventure, practicing to cultivate growth, and constantly absorbing wisdom to create new experiences that he shares with love to his friends around the world. He finds joy in interviewing Yogis from all walks of life to share their inspiring stories on the Yoga Revealed Podcast.

Billie Lee

Billie Lee is a transgender advocate and activist, known for being a cast member on Vanderpump Rules.  She is originally from the Midwest and now lives in Los Angeles.

Ally Iseman

Ally is an award winning actor, writer, and producer.  She has appeared in television roles in American Housewife, Criminal Minds, and NCIS: Los Angeles, and appears as a lead in the feature film, Life on the Rocks opposite Ray Wise.  She’s the host of the travel show, The Road Less Eaten, and the star of her gender parity comedy, Flip The Script.

Dotsie Bausch

Dotsie Bausch is a cyclist, advocate, and speaker.  Her cycling career produced a medal at the 2012 Olympics, eight US national championships, two Pan American gold medals, and a world record.  She founded the non-profit, Switch4Good.

Mario Fabbri

Mario Fabbri is a cooking show host and board member for Veg Fest LA. He began his TV career on the top shopping network, QVC, and now he hosts his very own show, Trying Vegan with Mario, where he invites world renowned health-food chefs to teach their best vegan recipes.

Katie Cleary

Katie Cleary is a model & actress who has taken major action in the preservation of our planet and its species. She is the founder of the animal welfare organization, “Peace 4 Animals,” and is the creator & producer of “World Animal News,” which covers news-breaking stories around the world.   Katie is also the creator & executive producer of the award-winning documentary, “Give Me Shelter.”

Katie Sarife

Katie Sarife is an actress and activist, best known for her most recent role as Daniela in the 2019 feature film, Annabelle Comes Home.  She also appears in numerous other films and television shows, including Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World and the CW’s Supernatural.

Marco Antonio Regil

Marco is a Mexican television personality, public speaker and activist.  He is the host of The Wall, Family Feud, The Price is Right, and Mexico’s hit show, Generation Gap.  For three years, Reader’s Digest named him the most trusted TV personality in Mexico.

Simone Reyes

Simone Reyes is a New York City native who spent years successfully helping mold entertainment mogul and philanthropist, Russell Simmons’, dream into a reality that became a legend.  Since then, she has been following her dream and focusing on her passion for country music.

Christine Elise

Christine Elise has been acting professionally for 30 years and is recognized primarily for her roles as Emily Valentine on Beverly Hills, 90210, as Harper Tracy on ER, and as Kyle, the gal who killed Chucky, in Child’s Play 2.

Ryan Nelson

Ryan Nelson is one of the most popular names in the vegan fitness industry and is a sponsored Posha Green super-heavyweight bodybuilder.  He inspires others to set and achieve goals in the weight room, in the classroom, and in sports and life.

Elysabeth Alfano

Elysabeth Alfano is an award-winning media personality, content producer and host.  A graduate of Northwestern University and the American Graduate School of International Business, Elysabeth has been bridging the gap between entertainers, influencers, celebrities and the public for over 20 years.

Melissa Breslow

Melissa is a musician, yogi, animal lover, dancer, poet, vegan, and foodie, living in Los Angeles.  She is the founder of Open Eyes Foundation, vice president of VegFest Los Angeles, and the front-woman of the band, Lovetease.  

Gianna Simone

Gianna is an actress, model and producer.  She has appeared in several films, such as Star Trek Into Darkness, Mother’s Day, I Can Only Imagine, and Unbroken: Path to Redemption.  She has also appeared in several television series, including Hitting The Breaks.  Gianna is a vegan activist and the host of the Amazon Prime show, Love Gianna, where she interviews influential leaders in the plant-based industry.

John Salley

John Salley, a proud native of Brooklyn, New York, is a four-time NBA champion, television host, activist, and chef.  He is also an entrepreneur, having invested in several companies that are in alignment with his ethical lifestyle.

Sarkis Vartanian

Sarkis Vartanian is the CEO of Es Todo Vegan Street Food, a restaurant on the edge of the Arts District in LA that serves ethical food for ethical people.  Along with making an amazing plant-based burger, he also has a goal of creating new trends that change people’s habits, convincing them that they can reduce their meat and animal product consumption.

Spork Food Sisters

Heather Goldberg and Jenny Engle are sisters and the co-owners of Spork Foods.  They founded Spork Foods as a way to share their love of vegan cooking with the world.  Their goal is to help people make healthier, more compassionate choices.

Carissa Kranz

Carissa is a former professional ballet dancer-turned lawyer who is licensed to practice law in New York, Washington D.C., and Florida. Aside from anchoring on the Law & Crime Network as a show host with Dan Abrams, you may have seen her on Nancy Grace, Dr. Drew, Fox News, CBS, CNN/HLN, NBC, Sirius radio and other major news media outlets as the Legal Expert.

Chef Babette Davis

Chef Babette is the owner and vegan comfort food specialist of “Stuff I Eat” restaurant in Inglewood, CA.  She has been a vegan and raw food chef for over 2 decades.  She’s the co-founder of the Love Ur Age Project.

Audrey Dunham 

Audrey Dunham is a food blogger and fitness specialist.  She is on a mission to help others learn how to easily follow a vegan diet so they can enjoy food and remain healthy without depriving themselves through simple vegan living.
